Noah van de Wetering (b. 1999, NL)

Is a visual artist living and working in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

He pursues a self-negating conceptual practice that traces a singular line of thought, only to unravel its own threads as it unfolds.

By engaging in various modes of relationality and spectatorship, his work manifests in a dialogue between two ultimates: the rhetorical and the poetic. His approach to verbalizing or materializing these ultimates is
multidisciplinary and includes photography, print, painting, and
installation.

Central to his work is a critical examination of the document as a form of testimony, sourcing from family anecdotes, archival materials, and histories of migration. In his practice, the reshaping or rephrasing of these anecdotes and histories, in time, is rendered a mechanism for producing new meanings.

Together with graphic designer Noa Wassink, he founded the publishing project Sessssion, which focusses on small edition printed matter and collaborative work methods.
